Right off the beach in front of the resort you’ll find the Nukuni reef. There is an abundance of unique Fiji marine life including hundreds of tropical fish and varieties of coral stretching from one end of the resort to the other (approximately 500 metres). Our team will guide you on a snorkel tour from the jetty to explore the Fiji world beneath the waves.  We have a range of snorkel gear available for your use but if you have your own favorites we recommend bringing them.  Snorkeling on the house reef is best two hours before or after high tide.

Hidden Beach Castaway Day

The Hidden Beach at The Remote Resort Fiji Islands is hidden around the headland from the resort.  You can choose to kayak there from the jetty, take a short boat ride (2 mins) or even walk around the rocky headland at low tide.  Once around the headland you'll discover the hidden beach where you'll find a hammock and picnic table just for you.  Just when you think you're castaway we'll deliver lunch along with your villa mobile phone.  Let us know what drinks you'd like and we'll pack it all into an esky/ice chest for you and then you can always call for anything else you need.  Enjoy a snorkel or just swing in the hammock on your private beach and call us when you’re ready to return or kayak back at your leisure.  The hidden beach has mostly coral underfoot as there is a nice little reef to explore right off the beach so don't forget your snorkel gear.

Taveuni Insider Day Trip

Taveuni Insider Day Trip

The day begins with a 30 minute boat ride over to Taveuni where you’ll meet your driver.  First stop Bouma Waterfalls (1.5 hour drive on partly unsealed road). The scenic drive will take you along the coastline of Taveuni and through Bouma village.  At the heritage park you will see the entrance to the trail which will guide you through the rainforest full of rare tropical birds and island foliage.  The walk to the first waterfall is 10 minutes and generally flat.  The second and third waterfalls are a medium incline but are well worth it for the views if you feel like a hike.

Another destination to visit is the Waitavala Natural waterslide. This rockslide is a natural wonder of Taveuni. It is located in the midst of beautiful tropical bush. It is best visited at times of the year when there is high rainfall and also on the weekend and school holidays when the Fijian kids are there to show you how it’s done.

You may also like to visit the 180 degree Meridian line.  The date line runs right through Taveuni meaning that each new day starts exactly here.

The Wairiki Mission Church is also an attraction in Taveuni, the Catholic Church was built in 1907 in honor of a French missionary who successfully advised Taveuni's warriors in how to defeat invading Tongans in a major battle. Fijians are known for their beautiful a cappella singing (Sunday services).

After this stop you might like to choose to peruse some of the Taveuni shops and markets (closed Sundays).

Cost includes boat and car transport, Bouma park entrance fees and picnic lunch.

Signature Experience (USD175 per adult/USD20 per child in same car incl taxes)
