Resort Activities at The Remote Resort, Fiji Islands

Many guests choose The Remote Resort for pure relaxation and disconnection from the real world. Days can disappear without a care while you rock in a hammock, lounge on your day bed and take the occasional dip in the ocean or your private plunge pool.  Others come here for adventure and of this the Rainbow Reef regions has plenty to offer. Complimentary resort activities include snorkeling our house reef, kayaking and fishing in the back bay, hiking to the peak of our peninsula to see views from Buca Bay to Taveuni, private Fijian cooking classes, Meke (traditional Fijian dance), Kava ceremonies, nightly Bula Boys band entertainment, volleyball, bocce and more.  We also offer optional daily signature experiences and excursions.

The Remote Resort features a vibrant house reef accessible straight off the beach at the Resort. This areas is part of a newly-designated Marine Park area. A variety of soft and hard coral as well as fish and starfish await your viewing pleasure.

The Resort has four kayaks available for guest use at any time. No matter what the weather our back bay (a popular hurricane hole for passing yachts and local ferries) is always calm and a pleasure to kayak. You may like to kayak around the peninsula to the hidden beach where the team will gladly set up lunch for you.

Fishing is a very popular activity in Fiji with large walu, barracuda and trevally up for grabs. The Resort has multiple hand lines and fishing rods available for guest use in the back bay.  Check the crab pots while you're there.

The Remote Resort is on a 64-acre former coconut plantation with great a couple of great hiking opportunities. Take the path up the hill, turn right at the top and wind along the hillside to the plateau at the rocky peak. From here you will be rewarded with a spectacular view from Buca Bay to Kioa and beyond to Taveuni.

Fijian Cooking lessons

Have a favourite dish you were served at The Resort, just ask Chef Saveen and he'll be happy to give you the recipe and a cooking demo.  Kokoda (Fijian ceviche) is one of the most-requested.

Bula Boys band & Kava ceremony

The Fijians love any excuse for a sing-song around the Kava bowl. Join our team upstairs in the main pavilion to try Kava. If you play an instrument yourself please bring it along, we've had some amazing and interesting jam sessions with instruments from all over the world.

Meke is a Fijian tradition embracing song and dance to tell of legends, love stories, history and spirits of the islands. Not to be missed.
